The mission of the Baldwyn School District Library/Media Program is to provide a collection of resources and information that will satisfy the educational needs and interests of students and staff in a setting where students can develop the skills they need to analyze, evaluate, interpret, and communicate information and ideas.

During our weekly visits, we learn about the library, great books to read, webtools for learning, how to access and use information, research and note-taking, and so much more! We check out books, keep reading records of the books we read, and earn rewards for reading books during the year. We learn how to access information on the internet safely and how to use websites to extend what we are learning in our classrooms and in the library.

Library Hours: (Monday through Friday – traditional school days)

Morning Duty Post 7:10-7:45 a.m.	First Grade Specials 11:30-12:10 p.m.
Open Library 7:45 – 8:10 a.m.	Lunch 12:10-12:40 p.m.
Library Administration 8:10-9:20 a.m.	Library Administration 12:40-1:30 p.m.
Second Grade Specials 9:20-10:00 a.m.	Kindergarten Specials 1:30-2:10 p.m.
Fourth Grade Specials 10 – 10:40 a.m.	Open Library 2:10-2:30 p.m.
Break 10:40-10:50 a.m.	Afternoon Duty Post 2:30-2:45 pm.
Third Grade Specials 10:50 – 11:30 a.m.

Accelerated Reader Bookfinder

Utilize this resource to: identify if a book is an AR book, determine the AR level of the book, look up a book’s AR point value, and find the AR quiz number of a book.
To Use Quick Search in AR Bookfinder:

Go to www.arbookfind.com
Click Quick Search (on the top of the page).
Type a book title, author, topic, or quiz number into the blank field.
Click search.
To narrow the results, select any of the options on the left of the screen under “Refine Your Search.” You can continue to refine your search until you get your desired results.

Destiny Discover

The Destiny Discover link is the online catalog. Using this you can check to see if the BES library has a certain book available.

Magnolia Database

This is a statewide consortium funded by the Mississippi Legislature with contributions from MS libraries and the MS Library Commission. It provides approximately 50 safe research databases. Magnolia provides online databases for publicly funded K-12 schools and other libraries. Here you have free access to thousands of online resources that can assist with educational, professional, and lifelong learning endeavors. Check this resource out.
